SARUM NADFAS will be hearing a lecture on Tuesday, about The Arts of Japan: Highlights of Japanese Art and Culture Through The Ages by Professor Marie Conte-Helm.
This lecture will chart the development of key aspects of the Japanese aesthetic in painting, sculpture and the applied arts through different periods of history.
Contact with China and the West, contrasting aristocratic and military tastes and the growth of townsmen’s culture all contributed to the distinctive visual trends and techniques The lecture will be held at 11am at The Methodist Church in St Edmunds Church Street.
