FAVOURABLE weather on the November 5 attracted an even larger attendance of more than 1,300 spectators to the Winterslow Bonfire and Fireworks, held at Robin Hill Farm courtesy of Ivan and Sue Moody Ivan Moody and Robert Hoskins lit the impressive bonfire, built by the regular team, including Ivan Moody, David Acton, John and William Page, Clive Broadley, Brian Heil, Richard Henderson, David Rickard, Edward Lawrence, Colin Campbell, Robert Hoskins and Steve Bungay.
The all-electric firework display was organised by David Acton with assistance from Steve Bungay, Mike Munro, Don Mason and Mark Hewitt.
Co-ordinated music and PA was provided by Ian and Marcus Macdonald.
Refreshments were organised by Sue Moody with the barbecue manned by Paul Hardiman, Kay Putman, Martyn Moody, Rory Wood and Eloise Warner.
Sue Moody and Rosemary Acton made soup, with hot chocolate and cola also available.
The busy refreshment serving team comprised Sue Moody, Kate Wood, Val Britton, Joy Elliott, Linda Carter, Liz Dixon, Janet Warner and Dawn Wright.
Ruth Pennels made the traditional toffee apples.
Rosemary Acton and Felicity Rickard ran a successful raffle, with prizes including donations from The Lion’s Head and Central Stores. Bethany and Edward Lawrence sold coloured light ropes.
The popular Guy competition was judged by Dave and Lin Elphick of West Sussex. Winners were The Tucker Family, The Rainbows and Cubs Blue Six.
Clive Broadley led the security team of Gordon Verity, John Tattershall and David Rickard.
Ray Hesford, Dudley O’Neil and Richard Henderson manned the gates. St John Ambulance was in attendance.
