A ROYAL fan from Amesbury is in jubileleventh heaven with all the commemorative memorabilia being released to mark the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

Jean Wilson, who already has her home filled from floor to ceiling with hundreds of pieces of royal memorabilia, began her collection 40 years ago.

Bought from catalogues and during visits to places such as Buckingham Palace, Sandringham and the Royal Yacht Britannia, Miss Wilson has items ranging from miniature busts and teddy bears to clocks, bells and egg coddlers, with the latest addition being a Diamond Jubilee teapot. And while she has amassed an array of artefacts relating to many members of the British Royal Family, it is the Queen who holds a special place in her heart.

She said: “The Queen is my favourite member of the royal family, I think she's amazing.

“I've seen her several times, most recently during her visit to Salisbury and at the Garter Ceremony at Windsor Castle.”

Among the collection are several pieces marking important birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, including two with different dates for the marriage of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

“Their wedding date was postponed by a day due to the funeral of Pope Jean Paul II so as I had already ordered one with the first date on, I was sent another with their actual wedding date on as well,” Miss Wilson explained.

Despite having little space left to display new pieces, Miss Wilson has no plans to stop adding to her collection just yet, saying: “I'm going to Windsor shortly so there's bound to be something there I can pick up.”
