Lance Corporal Becky Hoare.
Lance Corporal Becky Hoare, 20, based with 6 Close Support Battalion Royal Electrical Engineers (REME) at Tidworth, has been selected to compete in the Ironman Challenge 2013.
She qualified by coming first in her age group in the Ironman Wales.
“I cannot wait, I am so excited to be picked for this, I have been doing Triathlon for two years only and never thought I would get this far,”
said Lance Cororal Hoare.
She trains for up to 12 hours per week but, when she has a competition coming up, that figure is ramped up to 20 plus.
The Ironman Triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break.
Ironman events have a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete all elements.
