MANY people wonder what happens to soldiers when they leave the service, and there are many horror stories of imprisonment and sleeping rough. While there are some who fall into this category, there are many, many more success stories than failures.

At the recent Wiltshire Assembly meeting I met a former lance corporal from Tidworthbased King’s Royal Hussars, Sean O’Keffee.

Mr O’Keffee, with his business partner, another former lance corporal with KRH, has set up The-Training-Wing, a leading international training provider and consultancy specialising in maritime security, close protection and medical training, based at Castledown Business Park.

Established just two years ago, the company has grown rapidly and Mr O’Keffee is thankful for the support that he has been given by business organisations in Wiltshire, which has enabled him to expand his business to six overseas offices and a projected annual turnover of £500,000 this year.

Not a bad outcome in such a short time.
