A FURTHER 120 soldiers from Chester-based 1 Royal Welsh have moved to Tidworth to join the 2nd Battalion in preparation for the merger in April this year.
They are the second tranche; 150 soldiers moved last year and joined 1 Royal Welsh in Canada for a 36-day training period in armoured infantry tactics.
Commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Berry has praised the soldiers on the professional way the move has been handled. Chester was a one unit station and the move to Tidworth has posed challenges, especially for the families, as they are now scattered around the garrison.
