THE British Military Tournament is to close its doors after four years, ABF The Soldier’s Charity has announced.

A statement from the organisation said that the declining trend in ticket sales for the annual event, which was staged at Earl’s Court in London, meant that its organisers had no other choice.

This means that apart from public Beating of Retreat ceremonies, often held at Horse Guards Parade, there are no major public displays of the skills of our soldiers that the general public can access.

There is a big military Tattoo in Colchester over the weekend of July 5 and 6, but regular military attendance is limited to the Red Devils freefall team.
