One Show to broadcast from city

BBC’s The One Show will be broadcast live from Salisbury next month as part of Children in Need’s Rickshaw Challenge. A team of six youngsters will be taking it in turns to pedal a rickshaw on a 411 mile journey from Edinburgh to London, which they aim to complete in eight days.

Each member of the team has either been supported by, or is still being supported by, BBC Children in Need funded projects. Team Rickshaw will leave Llandudno on the morning of Friday, November 9, and they aim to arrive at BBC’s Television Centre in London on Friday, November 16, for The One Show’s Children in Need special.

The show’s presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones will greet the team live on air every weeknight as they cross the finish line at each location, and they will be in Salisbury on November 14, day six of the adventure. Baker said: “The Rickshaw Challenge is one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever taken on. These youngsters are going to have their work cut out for them. That’s why the public needs to get behind Team Rickshaw and come and cheer them on. We need to get behind them as they strive to raise as much money as possible for BBC Children in Need.” To donate £5, text TEAM to 70705. Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message and £5 will go to the charity.
