BROTHERS and sisters of Naomi House patients were treated to an off road driving experience at the weekend.
The event was organised by Wessex 4x4 Response Association who wanted to spread some happiness for the 30 siblings, who have brothers or sisters with life limiting illnesses.
The children were taken along the old Shaftesbury Drove by 17 volunteers from Wessex 4x4 Response on Sunday morning before a packed lunch and hot drinks at Glebe Hall in Winterbourne Earls.
In the afternoon they were taken to the pro driver training facility in Tangley, Andover for some difficult off roading and muddy conditions.
Wessex 4x4 Response provides logistical support to the emergency services in times of need and has recently helped out during flooding in Somerset.
The local team, based in Salisbury, has also helped at the annual Naomi House walks and wanted to do something to support the children’s hospice.
The volunteers provided their vehicles free of charge and local businesses Acumen Global Solutions (AGS), the Coombe Bissett Stores and Pro-Driver training provided snacks and covered the costs of the venues.
