HMV set to go into administration

ENTERTAINMENT retailer HMV is set to go into administration, making it the latest casualty on the high street.
HMV, which has a store in the Old George Mall, said its 238 stores will remain open while administrators Deloitte seek a buyer.
About 4,350 jobs are at risk and the chain has confirmed it is not accepting vouchers.
The announcement comes as Jessops, which also has a store in the Old George Mall, began closing its 187 stores yesterday.
Administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers were appointed last Wednesday but nothing could be done to continue trading.
