Godolphin debating team impress
ELOQUENCE on the subject of women bishops won the intermediate debating team from Godolphin School the Salisbury Rotary Youth Speaks competition on Monday night.
The team of Celia Wells, Anna van der Horst and Lizzie Tossell impressed the judges with their passion, carefully constructed speech and ability to handle questions from the floor.
The panel also commended them for their humour and use of quotations to support their argument.
After winning the competition, which was held at Leehurst Swan School, the team will go on to the regional Youth Speaks final at John Hanson School in Andover on February 13.
