Musical event in aid of Guide Dogs
THE first musical event in aid of Guide Dogs in Salisbury has raised close to £500 for the charity.
The event, held at The Chough in Blue Boar Row on Friday featured local musicians such as Rachel Sinetta, Trevor Kay, Chris Row, Ashley (Love Box) and Dave Waddington, who gave up their time in aid of the charity’s Name a Puppy Appeal 2013.
As well as music there was a raffle and a photographic display from Kate Ford photography, and the pub donated 10 per cent of the day’s takings to the appeal.
The appeal aims to raise money towards the £5,000 it takes to name a guide dog puppy and pay for its first year of training.
Organiser Debbie Furnell said: “It was great, really chatty and sociable.
We had a good turnout and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. The money raised exceeded what we expected.”
