Boys approached by man with knife in Harnham

TWO 15-year-old boys were left shaken after a man with a knife approached them as they waited at a bus stop in Harnham.

The two foreign students were waiting at the junction of Essex Square and Norfolk Road on Thursday at about 8.30pm when a man who appeared to be drunk approached them.

He walked off and returned a few moments later holding a knife. The boys ran off and were shaken but unharmed.

The police were called and arrested a 39-year-old local man on suspicion of affray. He has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
