AN independent women’s clothes shop in Salisbury is set to close as the owner is retiring.
Irma Gruenenfelter announced plans to close Jabot in The Maltings on Monday but said it will stay open until the stock is sold.
She opened Jabot in Catherine Street 32 years ago and moved to the current shop when it was built in 1986.
As she leaves her shop, Ms Gruenenfelter is urging Wiltshire Council to lower parking charges to help out other businesses in the city.
“We have been campaigning for a long time now and they really should do something about it,” she said.
