Tree falls on road

THE A338 was closed in both directions near Cholderton on Wednesday morning due to a tree blocking the road.

Police were called at about 3am after a tree that had fallen onto cables, and the road was closed in both directions between Allington and the junction of Amesbury Road and the A338 in Cholderton.

A tree surgeon was called and the road was cleared by about 9.05am.
