Road closed after accident on A30

THE A30 has been closed in both directions at Compton Chamberlayne after a car crashed into a telegraph pole this morning.
Police were called at just before 4.30am this morning after a silver Peugeot 106 hit a telegraph pole, bringing power cables down into the road.
The car rolled onto its side but the driver escaped uninjured.
Traffic is being diverted through the village and tall vehicles are being stopped from travelling along the A30 at Shaftesbury.
