Blue lights stolen from volunteers' vehicle
3:44pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in Headlines
A BRANSGORE charity volunteer says he is disappointed after a part of an emergency response vehicle was stolen.
Dennis Hann, who helps with the Community First Responders at Ringwood, and Bransgore, says he went out to the Mitsubishi Shogun at around 8pm on Saturday, February 23.
He saw that the grille which also comprised of two blue lights had been taken off the front of the 4x4. These lights are used in rapid response situations by the emergency services.
He said: “As volunteers, we are called out by South Central Ambulance Service to attend life-threatening incidents, such as breathing difficulties, heart attacks and strokes.”
Dennis, who owns a car garage, added: “It would cost £300 to replace what’s missing, which comes out of our own pockets.
“It means that the car has to be taken out of action, and so it puts lives at risk.”
Witnesses and anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
