Workshop and apartment given planning permission

PLANNING permission has been granted for a lock-up garage to be turned into a workshop and studio apartment, despite neighbours’ concerns.
People living near the site, to the rear of Bell House in Berwick Lane, Steeple Langford say the lane leading to it is in poor repair and more traffic should not be allowed.
But at a meeting of Wiltshire Council’s southern area board on Thursday, cllr Richard Britton said: “This is an extremely difficult site to develop and what’s being proposed is about as good as we are ever likely to see.”
Cllr Fred Westmoreland added: “It’s an imaginative way of dealing with the steep slope, I quite like it.”
