Music acts signed up for Wessex Country Fair
WITH just a couple of weeks to go until the inaugural Wessex Country Fair in aid of Salisbury Hospice Charity, two popular music groups have been confirmed to appear at the event.
Wiltshire-based Millers Daughter, twin sisters Christie and Louise Miller, have just announced their second single Undeniable will be released on October 14.
And they will be joined at the fair by Innervision, who play a huge range of cover hits from the 1970s through to current chart material.
Band spokesman Trevor Peters said: “It will be a privilege for Innervision to work with and once again help raise money for one of Salisbury's favourite charities at this the first Wessex Country Fair.
“We are sure it will be a huge success and hope to see it become an annual event.”
The fair, supported by the Journal, will offer a host of attractions in a main arena, as well as a catering village with a selection of high quality hot and cold foods and drinks, a wide selection of entertainment for all ages - from bouncy castles to laser clay shooting – as well as static displays of vintage steam machines and classic cars.
There will be a large marquee housing more than 50 stallholders selling local crafts, home accessories and locally produced food items, and lots of outside stalls as well.
The guest of honour at the event will be Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley who will judge the charity’s Christmas card competition.
Tickets for the event, on Saturday, September 7, are £7 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 14. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are £20. For more information go to wessexcountryfair.co.uk or contact John Munro at firstname.lastname@example.org.
• FORMER world darts champion Eric Bristow is coming to Wilton’s Bear Inn to support a team of 10 players taking on a 12-hour darts marathon in aid of Salisbury Hospice.
Bristow, who took part in last year’s I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! On ITV, said: “It will be a great night – and I’m sure the food will be better than it was the jungle.”
The event will be held on Saturday, August 31 from 2pm onwards.
