A CORNUCOPIA of crafts is on offer at the Dorset Do in Ringwood in a few weeks’ time.
The non-profit making event is expanding this year to take in crafts other than woodworking in an attempt to attract more women.
On Saturday, September 28 at Ringwood School there will be stick-making, quilting, coppicing, woodcarving,peg-making, woodturning, bead jewellery, tool sharpening, basket making, spoon carving, second-hand tools, shrink pots, pen-making, spinning and fibres, bentwood furniture and hurdle making.
There will also be carving, stickmaking supplies, a demonstration by the Ringwood-based arm of Tools For Self-Reliance, a didgeridoo and banjo maker, antique knitting machines and a bow and arrow maker.
Bill Moore of the Mary Rose Trust will be demonstrating some of his Victorian circular knitting machines – he has 40 of the 1800s machines tucked away somewhere awaiting restoration and people are invited to have one if they fancy a project.
Doors open at 10am and entry is just £5 on the door.
