Social Care Awards
THE fourth Wiltshire Adult Social Care Awards were bigger and better than ever ,with those who go the extra mile being recognised for all the work they are doing in their communities.
Wiltshire Council launched the awards to recognise the outstanding contributions made by carers throughout the county every year. This year the evening celebrations were held at County Hall, Trowbridge last Tuesday.
The council’s corporate director Maggie Rae said: “These awards are about recognising and thanking the many individuals and teams, for their hard work and commitment, who make a real difference to come of our most vulnerable members of the community.”
The awards were open to all individuals, groups, teams and organisations in any social care organisation in Wiltshire and reward excellence within social care.
This year there were 12 awards categories ranging from outstanding contribution and excellence in customer care to making a difference and dignity in care.
Docus Phiri, a live-in carer from Allied Medicare in Salisbury, was runner-up in the Sara Book Award which recognises individual workers who go the extra mile.
Other nominees from Salisbury included Jackie Henstridge, team leader from Salisbury Supported Living and hospital team manager Anne Veale.
