One man and his horse visit Salisbury
ONE man and his horse stopped off in Salisbury on Friday during a 2,500-mile sponsored ride to visit 30 cathedrals across the country.
William Reddaway, 65, and his horse Strider are aiming to raise £250,000 for two charities - The Family Holiday Association, which helps hundreds of disadvantaged families to have a break, and the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, which brings horses and ponies to inner London children and young people who face physical, mental or social challenges.
Mr Reddaway and his horse were just over half way through the Ride Round England challenge when they visited Salisbury Cathedral last week. Starting in the Cotswolds, the pair have been travelling alone and relying on friends and contacts to put them up across the country.
Mr Reddaway and Strider left Salisbury to finish the second half of the challenge, visiting Exeter, Truro, Land’s End, Wells, Bristol, Oxford, Gloucester and Tewkesbury Abbey.
