Flood plan to go before planning committee
PLANS to recreate and manage habitats on flood plains in Bishopstone will be discussed at a meeting of Wiltshire Council's southern area planning committee tomorrow.
The proposals involve de-silting and reconnecting a feeder ditch from the River Ebble at Croucheston Farm.
This would be connected to a series of shallow scrapes and a small area of permanent water via a new narrow channel, which would return to the River Ebble through an existing drop board sluice arrangement. The plans also involve resurfacing the rear access drive to the farm.
The application, submitted by Lady Nadine Cobham, has been called to the committee by Wiltshire councillor Jose Green, due to concerns about scale of development, the relationship to adjoining properties and the environmental impact.
The meeting will be held in the Alamein Suite at Salisbury City Hall at 6pm.
