Developer to unveil plans for 150 homes
PLANS to develop 150,000 square metres of land in Ringwood are to be unveiled tomorrow.
Linden Homes is holding a public information event to give details of its plans for land west of Crow Lane and adjacent to Crow Arch Lane.
The 15-hectare site has been earmarked for 150 new homes, employment and open space as part of New Forest District Council’s Sites and Development Management Plan.
The draft plan adopted by the district council suggests the following uses for the land: Housing: about 150 houses, some “affordable”.
Employment: Five hectares (around 12.5 acres).
Open space: 3.4 hectares (around eight acres).
The plan also mentions some key requirements for any development, for example retention and enhancement of the old railway line path and cycleway.
The land to the north is owned by Linden Homes, land to the south is owned by Hampshire County Council.
New Forest District Council has been supporting Linden and the county council in their pre-application work.
A spokesman from Linden Homes said: “Linden Homes has acquired an interest in land to the south of Ringwood. Linden Homes held an interactive drop-in event in July 2012, at which the local community was able to discuss initial ideas for the site, talk to members of the project team, and provide feedback.
“Further details of what is proposed for the site will be discussed at the public information event on Friday.”
The information event is being held between 2.30pm and 7.30pm at the Trinity Centre, Christchurch Road.
