Woman fined for dumping household waste
A WOMAN from Wilton has been ordered to pay £300 for illegally dumping rubbish near her home.
Kelly Parker, 35, of Randalls Croft Road, was convicted at Salisbury Magistrates Court on October 7 for the illegal deposit of waste after household rubbish was found dumped near a litter bin in the road on March 14.
Ms Parker admitted to Wiltshire Council enforcement officers investigating the case that she had placed the waste by the litter bin.
She was ordered to pay a fine of £200 and court costs of £100.
John Thomson, cabinet member for highways, said: “This prosecution shows that Wiltshire Council is ready to take action to deter this sort of behaviour and maintain the environment for local communities. It also reinforces the message that it is not acceptable to dump rubbish indiscriminately in our beautiful county.”
Anyone seeing waste dumped illegally can report it to the council on 01249 706118.
