Burglars cause thousands of pounds worth of damage in Zeals
BURGLARS broke into an office in Zeals and spray-painted offensive words all over the walls, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Forest management company Canopy Land Use was broken into over the weekend after burglars prized off an external alarm box and forced open a window.
They searched the office and used the company’s fluorescent marking paint to write swear words on the walls and spray paint on the computer monitors, photocopier and printers.
A laptop was also stolen.
PC Graham Briant of Wiltshire Police said: “There appears to be no motive for the offensive spray painting. It’s very juvenile. The cans are used for marking out areas of ground or trees and don’t spray like conventional aerosol cans. I’m confident whoever did it will have left the scene with permanent blue paint on their hands or clothing.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Briant at Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
