A SURVEY has been launched to find out what training would help people who are caring for a relative or friend with dementia.

The survey, which has been put together by Alzheimer’s Support, Alzheimer’s Society and Carer Support Wiltshire, with input from Wiltshire Council, will be used to inform the future commissioning of training for carers of people with dementia.

Catharine Hurford, from Carer Support Wiltshire, said: “Caring for someone with dementia is a tough and sometimes isolating experience, but training can be an enormous boost. “It can provide unpaid carers with the information and skills to help them care better and for longer – it can also provide a welcome respite from the responsibilities of the role and support from other people in the group.”

To take part go to carersinwiltshire.co.uk/news, or can call Carer Support Wiltshire on 0800 181 4118 to request a paper copy. The survey closes on January 20.
