A SOUTH Wilts School student has received an award from the Royal Geographical Society for being one of the highest achieving geography pupils of 2013.
Lucy Cunningham is one of 15 students given an Excellence Award for achieving the highest grades in GCSE geography, along with ten students who got the highest grades in the UK for IGCSE, A-level, International Baccalaureate and Pre-U examinations.
Steve Brace, head of education and outdoor learning with the Royal Geographical Society, said: “It is a real pleasure to celebrate the work of Britain’s next generation of geographers. This is a significant achievement for all the pupils receiving awards, as well as for their teachers.”
The winning students received a cash award and certificate from the society, which is linked with the Institute of British Geographers.
