SHOPPERS in Salisbury got a pampering treat today.

The Avon Beauty Cosmetics bus was in the city’s Market Place for a one-off event, and beauty students from Wiltshire College Salisbury were on board to offer free treatments.

The Level 1 students got some great experience giving shoppers the chance to have their nails or make-up done on a wet and miserable morning.

Keelin Manning, 17, from Amesbury, said: “It has been great to work with clients we have never met before and it has built up my confidence. I would really like to do this again.”

Sixteen-year-old Gemma Reason from Salisbury said: “It has really been an inspiring opportunity. Doing nails has been my favourite aspect of the course so far and it has been great to be able to practise on real clients.”

Nandani Jayasekera, beauty salon manager at Aspire at the college, was proud with how professionally the students behaved at their first event outside of the college. She said they had a really good time and were pleased with how many people came on board for a mini treatment.
