THE air ambulance is at the scene of a three-lorry crash on the M27.

The crash is causing long delays for motorists this morning.

The accident happened on the westbound carriageway of the M27, at junction eight for Bursledon, around 8.30am and firefighters are on the scene trying to free a man from a lorry cab.

The cab in the lorry that is between the other two lorries has collapsed and the driver is trapped.

Crews from Fareham, Hightown and Cosham are attending.

Police have closed the road at junction nine for Whiteley going westbound to stop people going on to the carriageway and have closed the westbound lanes on the motorway.

It is expected that it will not reopen before 11.30am.
