FROM violins to cellos, and keyboards to voices, music was in the air in Salisbury’s Cathedral Close at the weekend.
The first weekend of the Salisbury Young People’s Festival of Music, Drama and Dance saw about 250 children from around the area perform at Sarum College on Saturday as part of the event, which has been running in the city for about 30 years.
Committee member and trustee Shirley Brailey said: “It was brilliant. We have moved to a new location in The Close this time, and everything just flowed. It was a really nice atmosphere.” Next weekend it will be the turn of young theatre performers to take centre stage in the drama and dance section of the festival being held at Studio Theatre.
