PANCAKE Day was celebrated in traditional style in Salisbury on Shrove Tuesday, as choristers, schoolchildren and others took to the city streets with their frying pans.
The cathedral choristers had a race on the green while the Trussell Trust, in partnership with St Thomas’s Church, hosted its second annual pancake race in High Street, raising awareness of its work in local communities.
And pupils at Leehurst Swan School held a pancake flipping contest.
The children had a minute to flip the pancake over as many times as they could – with the highest score an amazing 29 flips.
