A DOG and two cockerels have been stolen from a house in Stourhead.
Maisie, a one-year-old springer spaniel was stolen at about 9pm on March 8.
Owner Gary Thomas noticed she was missing the following day, and six days later he received an anonymous phone call from a woman claiming to have run over and killed the family pet.
But Mr Thomas said: “The police said they are 100 per cent sure Maisie is still alive and the phone call was made so we would stop looking for her and cancel the microchip so it would make her less hot to handle.”
Then on Monday night, Mr Thomas discovered two cockerels had also been stolen from a run in his garden.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Maisie or the cockerels can contact Mr Thomas on 07912178502 or 01747 840916.
Alternatively, contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
