THE newly refurbished Salisbury Tourist Information Centre is is now open in Salisbury's Fish Row.
Mayor of Salisbury Penny Brown did the honours, watched by Salisbury City Council staff.
The ceremony took place ahead of English Tourism Week which aims to kick-start the British tourist season in the city.
It runs from March 29 to April 6 and includes guided daily city walks, ghost walks, Sunday’s teenage market and a farmer’s and artisan market in the Guildhall Square on April 6.
Information services manager for the city council Jane Fry said: “Tourism plays a vital role in Salisbury’s economy and we always welcome the opportunity to help celebrate English Tourism week.
“It is a great platform for us to give our local residents, in particular, the opportunity to explore further the wealth of attractions and beautiful surroundings we have right on our doorstep.”
