POLICE are appealing for information following an attempted fraud at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Salisbury.

Just before 3pm on March 24, a man tried to withdraw £900 using a false driving licence.

The staff member realised the licence was fake and called police, and it is believed the man realised he had aroused suspicion so left the bank through the Market Place exit.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as white, aged about 50, 6ft tall and of medium build.

He had short, dark hair and was wearing a dark suit with a white shirt underneath.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Greg Doyle of Salisbury Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
