WOMEN in Salisbury are being reminded to sign up for this year’s Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Taking part in Race for Life at Hudson’s Field is for women and girls of all shapes and sizes and all fitness levels to enjoy a 5k walk or run and a great sense of camaraderie while raising money for charity.

Maxine Bateman, Cancer Research UK’s Salisbury event manager said: “Race for Life is not competitive and it’s not about being fit or fast. It’s about thousands of women coming together to show cancer who’s boss.

“You don’t need to pound the pavements or be decked out in lycra to do your bit. Participants can choose to walk, jog, run or even dance their way around the course. Whichever way they reach the finish line, they are united by their determination to beat cancer.”

Last year, 2,313 women took part in Race for Life in Salisbury and raised £115,825. This year, organisers want 2,400 women and girls to take part and help raise £120,000.

Race for Life in Salisbury takes place on Sunday, June 29.
