‘WE’RE all in it together’ is the motto of the Honeysett-Beale family.

The rest of the family have shaved their heads to support five-year-old Lilly-Grace, who has leukaemia and is losing her hair due to chemotherapy treatment.

Lilly-Grace was diagnosed in December when a cold led to seven days fighting for her life in intensive care with severe pneumonia and a collapsed lung when her body couldn’t fight off the infection.

She then spent another two weeks on a high dependency ward. Lilly-Grace has spent the last four months having chemotherapy and is currently undergoing very intensive treatment, which goes on for another three weeks.

Her mother Becky said: “When her hair started coming out, I said ‘if you want Mummy to cut hers too, I will’ and she said yes. I thought it would make her feel less different.”

Mrs Honeysett-Beale’s mother decided to shave her head too and then Lilly Grace’s siblings got involved as well.

And Lilly-Grace’s little sister Summer-Rose, four, wanted to look like her big sister so she had her hair cut off too.

Mrs Honeysett-Beale said: “Summer and Lilly are incredibly close; everyone always jokes that they’re like twins and people can’t tell them apart. We sat down as a family and talked about what was going to happen.

I asked her if she wanted to look like Lilly and she said yes.

“I didn’t want to pressure the older girls, but at the very last minute watching us Leilah, who is ten, decided to shave hers too. It was a very proud moment.

"We’ve all been with Lilly every step of the way.”

The family, who live in Larkhill, have donated their hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs from real hair for children going through cancer treatment, and Mrs Honeysett-Beale has also raised more than £1,000 for CLIC Sargent, a charity that has been a great support to them.
