A CENTENARIAN who spent most of her life living in Wilton celebrated her 100th birthday on May 23.
Phyllis Mary White, known as Pimp, was born at Sandy Down in Stockbridge, the youngest of four children.
She married George and they lived in The Avenue, Wilton until 1998 when she went to live with her daughter Rachel Edwards in Newport, on the Isle of Wight.
Mrs White has had a lifelong passion for animals and she sponsored a donkey called Jenny at a sanctuary on the island.
She also enjoys knitting and has helped numerous charities by knitting blankets for babies and animals.
Mrs White now lives in Orchard House Care Home in Newport.
To celebrate her special day, the home held a party and she received a card from the Queen and from Ian Duncan Smith MP.
