PLANS are under way for the next Durrington Sunday Funday event, and organisers are looking for people to take part.
This year will be the fifth time the event has been run and organiser Emma Spencer is calling on stallholders, performers and businesses willing to donate prizes to get in touch.
Last year’s event included dance and cheerleading performances, stalls, a car boot sale, a raffle, bouncy castles, face painting and pony rides.
About 1,000 people attended and it raised more than £2,000 for charities.
The organisers are also looking for local charities to support with this year’s event. Previous charities to benefit include 2nd Bulford Scout Group, Durrington Village Hall Pre School, Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal and Meningitis UK.
The event will be held at Durrington recreation ground on August 24 from noon until 4pm.
Anyone interested in being involved can contact Mrs Spencer through the Facebook page Sunday Funday or email durringtonsundayfunday@hotmail.com.
