AMESBURY Carnival and show will take place on June 14, with fun for all the family.

Organisers are expecting about 8,000 to come along to enjoy the procession as it travels through the town followed by the show at Holder’s Field, when there will be a wide range of entertainment.

Musical performances will be given by Salisbury City Band of the Royal British Legion and Wessex Military Band, and there will be displays from the White Helmets, the Red Devils and the Black Eagles.

And Stoneage Games will be making their third appearance at the event, returning by popular demand.

Organised by the Aes Dana Grove of Stonehenge & Amesbury Druids, the Stoneage Games pit teams against one another in a battle to move a hefty Bluestone from one end of the arena to the other. At their disposal, the teams have only a set of rollers and their own ingenuity.

This year’s carnival procession will leave Amesbury Sports Centre at about 11.30am and arrive at Holders Road Playing Field at 1pm.
