NAOMI House has announced details of a new marathon and half marathon for southern England.

The children’s hospice has been selected as charity partner of White Star Running, which is staging a new multi-terrain race around Rushmore Estate and Larmer Tree Gardens.

It is the first time the estate has hosted a running event and organisers are hopeful the setting will lure in participants from far and wide.

Paul Morgan, fundraising manager at the hospices, said: “We are delighted to be working with White Star Running and Larmer Tree gardens to bring you this exciting new event. With so many races on the calendar runners are looking for something a little different, and the Larmer Tree marathon certainly delivers.”

There will be a half marathon, 20 mile and full marathon distance routes on March 15.

Naomi House provides care and support to life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families from across central southern England. The hospice needs to raise more than £7m each year to run a complete service and deliver on its plans.

Entry to the event is now open and participants are urged to sign up early to guarantee a place.
