NATURE lovers can discover the beautiful butterflies in Garston Wood on a Summer Nature Discovery Day next month.

The RSPB is hosting the day on July 20 at its nature reserve with free, guided walks every hour.

The wood has attracted lots of butterflies thanks to dedicated work during the winter by a group of local RSPB volunteers.

The guided walks will be on the hour every hour from 10am to 3pm, or people can wander around themselves. An enjoyable amble takes about an hour and a half and the RSPB recommends stout footwear.

Children can help make homes for nature from logs and branches and there will be RSPB goods and plants for sale, as well as refreshments.

The reserve is one and a half miles north of Sixpenny Handley on the road to Bowerchalke. Walks will start from the entrance car park at the northern end of the wood.
