CHILDREN at First Friends Day Nursery in Barford St Martin have a newly refurbished garden to play in thanks to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Salisbury branch).

The church chose the nursery for its annual summer service project.

Volunteers donated their time, hard work, plants and paint to help the nursery improve upon its outdoor area.

They spent the day with staff as they weeded, pruned, planted, painted and laid new paving stones in order to help create the new look garden.

A spokesman for the nursery said: “The children and our parents have been delighted by the results and have taken a real interest in all the new flowers, hanging baskets ad hopscotch area which has been created.

“Louise and her staff team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the church members on behalf of the children and parents.”
