SARUM College Bookshop in Salisbury’s Cathedral Close has been named the runner up in a national competition.
After being nominated by suppliers and publishers and undergoing rigorous judging, the store was given second place in the Independent Large Retail Store of the Year category.
Run by Christian Resources Together, awards are made for the best in Christian retailing and publishing, and include awards for the best Christian books in a number of categories, CDs and DVDs of the year as well as for shops and staff.
"It’s a real morale boost to receive national recognition for our work," said Jenny Monds, bookshop manager.
" As an independent, bricks and mortar bookshop, we are able to provide something that the online giants can’t – a stock tailored to our customers' needs, stock knowledge, an opportunity to browse, and above all personal service.”
Copies of all the award winning books, CDs and DVDs will shortly be on display in Sarum College Bookshop together with a plaque outlining the shop’s success.
