A BALL was held at St Francis Church in Salisbury to raise money for an extension to the community rooms.
More than 80 people attended the event, on Saturday, raising £1,200 for the project.
The Vicar, Revd Paul Taylor, said: “The ball was a great chance to dress up, have fun and share a great evening supported by many from our community.”
St Francis has been developing as a community hub on the site over the last five years, with a new youth centre and pre-school in the refurbished church hall.
Planning permission was granted last year to build new community rooms on the south side of the church to allow expansion of the church’s work amongst the very young and the elderly.
The ball was organised by church members Joy and Nigel Harrison, who in past have organised the Christmas Stars Party for the maternity and neonatal Little Lives appeals at Salisbury District Hospital.
The church was decorated for the occasion and the guests enjoyed delicious Indian cuisine from Hox Brasserie and live music provided by From the Ashes.
