TRAVELLERS have moved onto land near Ashley Road in Salisbury, sparking a major police response.

About seven caravans, which spent last night at Hudson's Field, are currently parked on the green opposite the fire station.

Up to ten police cars are said to be at the scene.

They have been served with a section 61 notice which says they must move by 4.30pm today.

Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police are at the scene trying to move them on.

Well done for moving them on.

Why do some people treat any piece of green lawn, or car park come to that, as their own? Go to a normal camp site like everyone else!

They go anywhere where they do not have to pay, and leave a fine mess
when they leave for the tax payers to fund the clean up, why don't they change the law so they can be evicted as soon as they get onto the sites??
