Burma Star Association's last parade

First published in Headlines by

THE Burma Star Association is parading through Salisbury on August 15.

The Salisbury and District branch is holding its last parade in commemoration of VJ Day, due to the old age of its members.

The branch has also invited the Normandy Veterans’ Association to take part.

The parade will take place at the war memorial at 10.30am.

Afterwards there is a short service at the cathedral at about midday.

My former Pipe Band once led these chaps on a march through Bournemouth and on to a service.

These veterans deserve the honour and all the cheers and applause of respect.
