TICKETS have gone on sale for an evening with multiple Paralympic gold medallist Dame Sarah Storey in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Storey is Great Britain’s most successful Paralympian with 11 gold medals over a long career which has seen her win on both the track as a cyclist and in the pool as a swimmer.

Chris Maple who is organising the event with his wife Vanessa is delighted that such a high profile sports star has agreed to speak at the event.

He said: “Her story is inspirational, captivating and will entertain. She has overcome

much adversity to celebrate great sporting success.

“Having a star of London 2012 visit and to share her story is something different and very exciting for Salisbury and this area.”

Mr Maple decided to organise the event following the death of his father-in-law, Mike Gulliver from Motor Neurone Disease and all the money raised will go directly towards helping people affected by the illness in Wiltshire and Hampshire.

He added: “Fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association is very important as they rely almost entirely on donations and the generosity of the public, every pound really does make a difference.

“They provide invaluable support to those living with the disease, helping them to retain some dignity in their dying months as well as research into the disease to try and find a cure.”

The event takes place on Sunday, October 19 starting at 7pm in The Chapel, Milford Street.

It also includes a drinks reception, a two course meal, sports auction and live music to close.
