SALISBURY Fashion Week 2014 launches later this month.
Organised by award-winning JASHAIR Group and Ladies who Love… Events, the first event, Runway, takes place on Thursday, September 25 at Salisbury City Hall from 6-9pm.
Showcasing local independent fashion boutiques as well as high street chains, professionally choreographed catwalk shows will reveal what looks are on trend for autumn/winter and what fashions can be bought locally.
With pop-up shops, live entertainment, competitions, offers, free prize draws, a barbecue, complimentary fizz and canapés on arrival – the organisers are promising this event will get Salisbury Fashion Week off to a most stylish start.
Running until Wednesday, October 1, and sponsored by Allum and Sidaway, HOX Brasserie, Parkwood, Inspire Orthodontics, Mark Jones Eye Care and with support from Salisbury BID, other Fashion Week events include an evening with fashion historian Dr. Benjamin Wild. Dr Wild, who lectures at the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, London will be giving an insight into the fashion and influence of Sir Cecil Beaton on the Friday night at Leaden Hall School.
Fashion-lovers can also look forward to a vintage fashion show and afternoon tea party with live jazz at Salisbury Cathedral on the Saturday afternoon, a crafts workshop on the Monday evening as well as two luxury shopping events on the Tuesday evening – one at Parkwood and the other at Casa Fina, where girls who love pearls will enjoy a Pearls for Girls event in store and enjoy finding out more about Pearls of the Orient’s beautiful freshwater and seawater pearl designs.
Local shops and businesses will be running offers and promotions throughout the week and there are savings of up to 50 per cent to snap up.
Catherine Dunning and Jayne Prigent, who co-founded Salisbury Fashion Week in 2011 said: “Salisbury Fashion Week is one of the most exciting events on the city’s calendar. Reinforcing the importance of ‘shopping local’, come and see what Salisbury businesses have to offer”. All tickets for Salisbury Fashion Week events must be bought in advance and tickets to Runway : The Launch are currently on special offer at just £15.
