FIFTY years of secondary education is to be celebrated at The Trafalgar School in Downton on Saturday.

Throughout the day the school is setting up activities for all the family including ferret racing, face painting, bouncy castles and a variety of stalls as well as live music. Wilton Hounds will also be joining the festival.

Refreshments include cream teas, a barbecue and a licensed bar.

Former students are welcomed to look around the school and see the developments from the last 50 years. There will be a tour of the school at 2pm The annual fireworks and picnic in the park will start the evening’s entertainment, with music provided by Woodfalls Brass Band, Downton Brass Band and Just Us before a firework finale.

The Trafalgar Festival takes place on September 6 from 12 noon until 11pm. Individual entry is £3 and family tickets are £10.
